1. Introduction and Rationale
The Ghana Technology Service (GTS) is established as a statutory body to ensure Ghana develops and maintains a highly skilled, certified technology workforce that supports national digital infrastructure, innovation, and secure government operations.
GTS will function as the central authority for:
- Certification of technology professionals
- Setting technology standards for national projects
- Coordinating public-private technology training programs
- Supporting national digital initiatives
This framework ensures that Ghana develops homegrown talent, maintains high standards in technology, and leverages technology professionals for national development.
2. Objectives
The objectives of GTS are:
- Professional Certification: Standardize testing, certification, and accreditation of technology professionals across private and public institutions.
- Capacity Building: Collaborate with training institutions to ensure skills meet national standards.
- National Technology Backbone: Mobilize certified professionals to work on government digital infrastructure projects and projects of national interest.
- Innovation & Standards: Develop guidelines for software, hardware, cybersecurity, and emerging technology adoption in government operations.
- Data Governance & Ethics: Ensure technology applications meet ethical, privacy, and security standards.
3. Mandate of GTS
GTS shall:
- Accreditation & Regulation:
